I'm pretty happy with my Thinkpad R31 (but the model I have doesn't
have built in Wireless),
There was an article in the Voice newsletter about the T40 (I
think). If you travel a lot you
might want to consider the Thinkpad X series as they are
ultra-light (but limited on expansion
and CR-Rom and floppy are external plug in devices). All the models
I have mentioned are
superceded by later models, so I guess it depends upon whether you
intend to buy new or
secondhand ? One thing to watch out for, some of the most recent
Thinkpads come with
a USB memory key instead of a floppy disk drive. If you really need
a floppy drive you
will have to buy this as an extra and IBM themselves admit their
USB floppy drive has
problems that under OS/2 it is only recognised if it is attached
and has a (non-boot)
diskette in it at power up. This is part number 06P5222 or 5223 -
so it's better to buy an
after market usb floppy drive.

Thinkpad have always been the laptops most likely to work with OS/2
however some
of the new cheaper (not made by IBM but rebadged Acers) may not be
so good.

Cheers/2

Ed.
