| subject: | C Set++ & Swapfile |
GM>It states on the box : GM> Swap requirements: GM> - C++ developement: minimum 30 MB GM>Does C Set++ use the system swapfile or does it use it's own GM>swapfile? My guess is system, however I have some doubts about GM>that. I once got a message, while trying to compile a small GM>C++ program, that stated the process could not continue because GM>it could not open some ????????.wrk file in x:\ibmcpp\tmp. GM>Well \tmp did not exist, once created everything went fine. GM>So is this 30MB swapfile for C++ located in \tmp ? No. A few small(ish) temporary files are created in the tmp directory. I guess that about 512K would be plenty for that directory. The 30 megs referrs to system swap. Anyway I use Cset++ version 2.1 and I've never had my swapper file grow much above 24 megs. I run a multi-line BBS and I'm writing/compiling/testing a TCP/IP program in C++ on thhis machine so I guess the mythical "typical" installation would need less swapper space. Also going from 2.11 to Warp beta 2 didn't make any difference to swapper usage that I've noticed. cya ___ X MR/2 2.0 NR X ***** WINDOWS DETECTED DELETE?
