PE> There is nothing I can do about any of those things,
PE> as they are all likely to be at your end.

RS> Nope, not if its actually a wart in your current modem,
RS> or the mode you are using it in, like enabling fax calls.

PE> That's what I said below - "except for potential modem bugs".

Like I said, you were having a bob each way and the totallity of what
you said makes no sense whatever. By far the most likely explanation
is that you are seeing a wart in your current modem or the mode its
used in. That sentence at the top is about the LEAST likely.

PE> Otherwise everyone would have the same problem, as the connects
PE> are all the same to me (except for potential modem bugs).

RS> That sentence combined with the previous one is just a massive brain fart.

RS> Its quite likely some residual wart in your modem that also
RS> produced the same effect with me on some calls. Havent seen any
RS> lately tho. I dont recall they ever happened when your modem didnt
RS> have incoming fax calls enabled tho, assuming its still setup like that.

PE> Yes, I have adaptive answer. Got a fax via it just a few days ago!

Most likely that produces that symptom on modem
calls occasionally, both with frank and me atleast.

Not that I give a damn, it doesnt happen enough to matter.
Makes sense to leave it like that so you can get faxes too.
