Hello Curt!

CB> Anybody using the patches for BP7 and OS/2? How good is it?
CB> Any other pascal compilers out there worth looking at?
EH>Yes, I do use the patch. It works great, but you will have
EH>to find your own documentation about OS/2
CB> What documentation do you use? Does the patch allow PM
 CB> programming?
First things first:
I use 2 dutch books, one written by Peter Norton & Robert Lafore (its
for OS/2 1.2, but you can't use the 32-bit 2.x calls, so I see no harm) the
english title is "Peter Norton's inside OS/2". This book explains
a few OS/2 issues. It is handy to see how the functions get used.
The other is a small reference work by Ray Duncan "Programmer's Quick
Reference Guide Essentail OS/2 functions". This is handy, when you
have once learned how to use some functions, this booklet explains what the
parameters for most of the others are.

Yes, the patch does allow for PM programming, but: there is no
class-library, so you will have to find out yourself! You will have to tell
OS/2 it is a PM-app by patching the program flags, setting the PM bit to
on. There is a small program delivered for that with the patch.

CU,

Erik/2.
