Augustin:
AH=>AH=> Well I'm primarily looking at Hunters because there're lots of
t
Not a really good reason to select a make of boat - there are a lot of
Hyundai cars, too; and while they're good at what they do/are, they're
not real "passage-makers"; like Vancouver to St. John's... sure you
"could" do it - but would you enjoy it?... be comfortable?... be able to
HEAR(!) anyone talk to you afterward for the first 2 hours?... etc....
AH=> Just received something in the mail telling me that Hunter has just
AH=>started sailing a new prototype this month - the HC48. I think it's
AH=>supposed to be a fast passagemaker with water ballast and an electric
AH=>engine. That is: I THINK it's a passagemaker, unless I read the thing
AH=>wrong.
You can READ? Wow!... then it's true, one DOES learn something each
day!... all kidding aside, haven't heard of it - and I can't/won't
say that I checked out the new Hunters at the Boat Show: I will ask them
tomorrow and if they have anything I'll grab it for you so you can get
it (the brochure!) when you arrive here.
AH=>I've never heard anyone call a Hunter "pretty" before, but since
AH=>you mentioned the word "Winnibago" in the same paragraph, I can tell
you're
AH=>trying real awfully hard to be polite.
You misquoted me - or missed the point... I was referring to the amount
of ROOM in a Hunter; a comment on your point of how they maximize the
available waterline. The two points (Winnegabo & "pretty") had nothing
to do with each other. ...and don't you EVER again ruin my hard-won
reputation by calling me "polite" in public!
AH=> First off, just what the hell does obtuse mean? Is that some sort
of
AH=>geometric shape like a Hunter or something?
Hadn't thought of it as having any relevance to a Hunter, but now that
you mention it........
obtuse, meaning not sharp, generally refers to something as
being unclear (as in a point of discussion, not glass)
AH=>SM> Que sera que sera - it just wasn't meant to be...
AH=>------------
AH=> Ya, I guess, that's what Doris Day said too.
Who do you tink I stole it from?... I just LOVED those old Doris & Rock
movies!...
AH=> Make it for late winter (say, anytime in March) and you'll think
AH=>you're in paradise. Ever seen two whales mating? How 'bout seals? Sea
AH=>cows? C'mon, I'll take you guys sailing and show ya what real marine
AH=>life's all about!
You'll have to check with the social convenor when you're here - I
wouldn't DARE to make any plans without her OK .... sea-life? I'm a
diving instructor, remember?... I've seen a LOT more than I'll ever
admit to!... I'm talking sea-life here, Augustin - so just put away your
replies before you even start typin' 'em in!
