| subject: | Win98FE Harddrivicide? |
-> -> -> It should be Doable. You need to go to the Hard Drive manufacturer -> -> -> support site and download their maintenance and troubleshooting -> -> -> software. There sould be a routing so you can "Zero" out the Hard Drive -> -> -> and start over. -> -> -> If that OEM CD is a restore disk I donm't thin kyou can get arroung the -> -> -> FDISK problem. Because the FDISK o nthe Win98 CD is the oldr versions -> -> -> that dosen't see drives larger then 64 gig. -> -> -> Nothing currently sees the drive but I'm keeping it just to slave -> -> to n new drive to be purchased next month -> -> where I will try the Western Digital utility. -> -> Interesting the files are on www.westerndigital.com :-) :-) -> There are two programs I am thinking about BUT I don't recal lwhich one -> "ZEros" out(I REFUSE to call it Low Level formatting because it is i nNO -> was related to the LLF of days past and Gibsons Spin Rite) -> But the two file names you are after are Data Lifeguard Install and the -> WD diagnostics. Yeah I know it isn't a true LLF and I know it's called Data Lifeguard. Too bad it's too big to load into a floppy drive diskette. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
