subject: Win98FE Harddrivicide?

-> If I read all of this correctly, Wayne's system now no longer 'sees' the drive
-> at all. If this is true, he will most likely have to put it on a newer system
-> first that will 'see' the drive just to be able to zero the MBR.

I was aware tyat Win2000 and WinXP charges ahead without telling what it
is doing but I have NOT known the "GEneric" OEM win98/95 CD's doing
that. Now Win2000 and WIN XP as I usderstand it charge ahead without
letting you know what is going on.
But the FIX while can be done manual is avaialble on the Western Digital
Hard Drive Maintenance Floppy.
