     I mostly use my "easy entry cart" - they are mass-produced and cost 
about $425 new, much less used.  They are METAL and you don't have to step 
over the shafts getting in.  The only thing was I couldn't STAND the red, 
white and black upholstery - we stripped mine down and reupholstered it BLACK 
before I took it in my second driving class.  The horse is loud enough 
without a gauche seat for the driver.
