| subject: | Rexx/sys1041 Problem |
IP>I was recently trying to write a simple program in REXX and came across a
IP>puzzling problem. Whenever my program comes across a "directory" or
IP>"SysFileTree" command, it goes and gives an SYS1041 error
message ("The
IP>name specified is not recognized as an internal or external command,
etc").
What is probably happening is that the "directory" and
"SysFileTree"
commands are returning an errorlevel that is then being passed to the
operating system as a command, thereby generating an error when no
command by that name is found. Try creating a dummy variable, e.g. "rc"
and put "rc =" in front of the offending lines. Please let me know if
this solves you problem.
