Well it was seen and setup properly in Linux on the Ultra66 card
_before_ I followed some bad advice regarding Windows.

Prior to the Windows installation attempt Linux saw the entire drive 
properly.

The problem was with the OEM Windows software installation CD's fdisk.

I _may_ have one more go at it in March before I snag a new drive and
Ultra133 drive and BIOS'ed I/O card in April.

I'm at the point I'm afraid I may be damaging the PCI slots from too
much swapping of cards in the attempt to get this setup to
work.

Next time I'm NOT installing Windows so all should proceed smoothly.
