G'day Peter

You said something about M A X's BBS?

RB>> This Breaks the 8.3 IBM limit, can someone help me on this problem ??

PD> Max's BBS can't possibly be THAT bad however? Surely files ARE
PD> renamed as they are sent to 8.3 names????? The thing IS _SUPPOSED_ to
PD> be compliant in theory, and 8.3 is a prerequisite for that!

It isn't and it does. He just hasn't cfged it properly to use 2D mode for
non-4D systems. [shrug]

As is often the case with a BBS such as MAXs, when someone asks for help
he's inundated with replies of:

"It's broken! It's crap! Get [whatever BBS SW the respondent prefers]"

regardless of what the problem actually is...

  Shall I shut up now? __ . o o ,
