I can't say they "are the best" that are available, but when it comes 
to bass reproduction and ground shaking bass of any proportion, Cerwin Vega 
has always given tremendous performance. Since before mobile audio became 
popular, Cerwin Vega has been known in audio circles as one of the best there 
is at any price for sheer bass capabilities. I am sure there are many who 
have favorites other than these and maybe some can keep up with them. But, I 
have been building subs for ten years and have never been disappointed with 
the quality or the bass sound from this particular company.
        Some years ago I wrote them a letter about something new they were 
doing with the woofers. They replied with a very nice letter explaining the 
change in great detail, and included a really funny Cerwin Vega T Shirt and a 
pair of ear plugs in a container intended to be given your neighbors when 
they come to complain about the bass.
