Ok, I've tried it out and it works.  Of course it takes an extra day for
f711x934.txt to drop the "-- archived --" bit, but that's fine. 
Here's my mntfile.cmd...

And here's TMLJOIN.TXT hopefully back to what it was before, more or less...

file in case of aborted connect.  To delete a file from SPECIALR,
just send it again, as a zero-length file.  It should get deleted
automatically overnight.
