This is true, and I didn't exactly to that . . . .

Seagate (Maxtor is off my buy list, and WD was never and will never be

In previous tests of different sizes of the same drive family, I have
found the larger to be slightly slower in some cases than the smaller,
so there's no way to safely assume without testing specific drives.

Depends on what you mean by limited. I don't see a 39.5% disparity
between PATA & SATA on the Sysbench File I/O test as insignificant. (~29
PATA observed max vs ~41 SATA observed max)
