subject: help with com port

Hello Rod!

I got my serial port card back from my brother-in-law. Now I have a COM1,
COM2, COM3 and I have configured COM4 but it doesn't really exist. Under
vanilla DOS, I can make Telix access COM2 and COM3 successfully. Under
OS/2 I can only access COM2. COM3 cannot be accessed from either Binkley
or Telix. It says that the port cannot be initialized. Any ideas?

The card with COM1+COM2 on it uses a 16450. There was only one 16450, so I
presume that handles both com ports? It looked like the chip was socketed
too. I thought you needed one of these chips for each com port? COM3 has
an 8250 in it.

Paul
