Hello Rod!
Well with the change to Binkley 2.56, the removal of the serial card which
shared interrupts with the other one, everyone should start singing in the
streets and there will be peace in our time. The next step is to see if I
can either fix the personal.ndx by figuring it out, or by bypassing it by
making Binkley not spawn it, but instead go back to the batch file. That
will take a bit of time.
What I want to do is find out why personal.ndx cannot be created. Do you
know how to make OS/2 debug all the calls to Open() (or whatever) so that I
can find out if it is a problem with file handles, not enough memory, not
enough links in the directory or who knows what. I think it should be the
OS's job to give me that information, not the programmer of Maximus. He
(Max prog.) should just report "cannot open" and it should be the
OS's job to give you the OS-specific reason (the MVS PDS directory entry
had an incorrect TTR address etc etc). BFN.
Paul
