Well, actually, no. Lots of fresh water from the Fraser River pours
into our sailing waters keeping the salt levels low and our bottoms
relatively clean. Drydocking once a year (that is, waiting for the low
tide rather than paying enormous amounts for haulout as is customary in
Ontario) is sufficient to clean and redo the bottom fairly inexpensively.
So you can safely say that we cannot sail roughly one day per year... as
apposed to the 7 months plus a day in your locale. Hope this clarification
