OK, my daughter thougt it was metal too.  Just as a general rant I sure 
do hate one set of instructions covering multiple installations.  It 
sure would be nice if my model had a film to say to remove it and if it 
did not don't even mention the film.

My fan/heatsink has the compond pre-applied.
