WC>Not the case here. WC>I know about the MBR overwrite. WC>It was the first edition 98 fdisk that scrambled the drive WC>on the OEM CD the software resides on. That should be expected for a Hard Drive larger then 64 gig. Byt Micosoft did put out a later version of FDISK that will work. Now the probem is How do you stop the HP OEM CD from doing it autonaticly. I never run with the Autorun turned for my CD drive myself and also I never install directly from the CD. I copy all the files in the Win98 Folder on the CD to a directory on the Hard Drive that I name win98cab. Then go to that directory and click on Setup to do the install. I have installed on many machines that way and Never had it FDISK and Fromat the Drive. It jsut started the install. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ My reality check just bounced.* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
