Subject: CONTACT
My family rented the movie CONTACT. The story is about astronomers who are
listening to radio messages from space in the hope of picking up signals
from other planets. My daughter informs me that one of the members of the
scientific team was blind. This was a 'matter of fact' event in the movie.
There was no big deal concerning his blindness one way or the other.
Hollywood has finally written a blind character into a story who is a
capable member of a scientific team. Hurray for Warner Brothers! I think
we should all congratulate WB for this, especially considering how this is
in contrast to Disney's Mr. Magoo.
Thank you Warner Brothers! JODY
