Re - divorces and false accusations - one of the situations I am most 
familiar with involves a divorce - this person's ex only accused them 
after they were divorced and involved with (living with or married to, 
I'm not quite sure which) another person.  Then Jealousy ruled and this
person was falsely accused, sending the new "Spouse"(?) right out of 
remission from a very serious illness which eventually resulted in the 
partner who was not accused of anything, the innocent person who got in
the line of fire, to DIE, as well as causing the person who was accused
to do time - I believe wrongfully for very specific reasons. 
Interestingly enough when this person, after serving time for this, 
recently remarried aproximately 10 years after having served the time 
and not seeing the children involved for all that time and longer, the 
same ex-spouse tried to do other legal crap to ruin THAT marriage, 
except the new spouse wouldn't take it and hired a very good lawyer 
immediately to stop the nonsense.
And it worked.
To me I think ANY accusation that suddenly comes out during a divorce 
-especially when the crime has supposedly been going on for years 
beforehand, but none of the witnesses come forward until the divorce 
and doing this keeps a parent from seeing his/her kids and also gets 
revenge, well, I think it should ALWAYS be thrown out unless there is 
specific physical evidence, period.
In fact my birth-mother, if I remember right, tried to get me to say 
that my Dad abused me (not sexually) during their seperation and I was 
old enough to tell her to can it because I knew if I did what she 
wanted I'd never see my Dad again.
I don't trust ANYONE who says they let their kid be abused and/or 
molested ALL these years and didn't say anything about it until NOW 
when the divorce is going on.  Either they were an accomplice/accesory 
to it, in my opinion, or they are lying and using the courts for 
revenge.
That's just THE most ridiculous one.  If I saw anyone hurting a kid, 
I'd turn 'em in - I've done so.  I wouldn't wait six years to do it 
either.
