EG>BL> EG> minute phone conversation. The number to the Polio Survivors BL>
EG>EG> Foundation is 818-996-8733.
EG>Okay, well I called the number just now and that is indeed the correct
EG>number. In my conversation with the 'owner' of the Polio Survivors
EG>Foundation (PSF) just now I got some additional information. The
EG>only person I've spoken with, and whom I believe to be the impetus
EG>behind the organization, is Ms. Lee Seitz. I didn't want to post her
EG>name on-line without her permission, and I now have that. PSF is a
EG>small organization whose all volunteer staff is comprised entirely
EG>of polio survivors. They currently serve 3 counties in California,
EG>which are Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura. Their address is:
EG> Polio Survivors Foundation
EG> 18700 Sherman Way
EG> Reseda, CA 91335
EG>Lee Seitz told me that PSF is entirely funded by donations from the
EG>public, no government funding is involved. PSF was set up, in part at
EG>least, because the population of polio survivors is aging and the
ack
EG>of organizations willing to help provide wheelchairs, braces, lifts
EG>and other appliances to polio survivors. It is by design that there
EG>is no red tape involved. Lee Seitz told me that although PSF, as
EG>currently structured, serves only the 3 counties mentioned, she would
EG>like, and is willing to help, to set up branches of PSF in other
EG>states. I told her that I would post that information here on-line
EG>and relay any responses back to her. Oh, one more thing, the PSF
EG>office is in the middle of a move, the calls are forwarded to her home
EG>where the answering machine doesn't answer with "Polio Survivors
EG>Foundation," but with her name. Not sure, but that may have been what
EG>caused the confusion with the phone number.
I left the whole message in case some others might have missed it..
EG>Ann, I don't know if I can ever forgive you for giving me such a scare.
EG>The thought that I may have sent the wrong phone number around the world
EG>caused me to have a panic attack. Just kidding. Lee is a very nice lady,
EG>give her a call. Best to you and yours, Take care.
Jerry called the number. Maybe they were in transit the day he called.
Sorry about the panic attack....When you come down on the visit...I'll
take you to lunch...How about that?????? I really don't need anything
from PSF right now, but it would be nice to know that we had one around
here for later....I'll save the message and see if anyone would be
interested in starting one in Shreveport.....You have a great day. Be
good....
