Hi David,
DS> Such a tool comes with WP5.2/Win. The macro facility has a

DS> (MFWIN.EXE) in your WPC subdirectory.
Was not available, did some digging in the archives and found it burried
under a heap of dust. Got it installed and tried it out. Simple macros, the
easy short cuts for the repeatative use of long words, are easily converted.
The more difficult ones: add an equation box, prevent it form being shifted
at the page break, number it etc., well... as you already predicted: useless.
DS> Run it from the RUN command in File Manager or Program Manager
NT has a text box, which allows it to run. Unfortunately the program does not
accept a filename as an argument:
for %e in (*.wpm) do mfwin %e
i have to struggle through several dialogue boxes. Retyping the macro's will
be the most time economic solution, as you already suggested.
DS> I know that years ago some people were talking about writing better
DS> conversion programs, but I don't know that anyone ever did.
DS> It is not an easy problem to solve.
I see why, the resulting macro is quite different, its rather a text (*.wcm)
than a bunch of bytes (*.wpm).
