I really enjoyed TNG myself, especially in the last couple of seasons
where it became super intense (it's been awhile, but I don't think that I'm
remembering the part where that happened wrongly). Felt the exact same way
about DS9. It was just another soap opera to me; and I can't really say that
my attitude about that type of show has changed since I was in the single
digits and couldn't stand them when my mom was watching 'em.
I'd totally try to give Enterprise a shot if you hadn't seen it. It
reminded me of a retro version of TNG very much. Scott Bakula (sp?) was a
little bit tough to get used to in the captain's role but I acclimated fairly
well to it within a couple of episodes. It's a lot more adventurous than DS9
or Voyager seemed to be, though it does still have some 'talking head'
episodes.
