Tom:
TE> Hope nobody was hurt. However, I can't figure out why were you
TE> trying to park in the trunk of a Tempo? Do you save on parking
TE> fees that way?
SB> Actually, Bob was driving at the time. :-)
TE> Oh rats! There goes my extended "Women Drivers" thread. Pity, I
TE> had some good material waiting in the wings.
The offending driver was female. Also 83. :-)
SB> Her insurance company has been quite anxious to get this resolved
SB> satisfactorily. The accident was on Feb. 28. On March 5, we got a
SB> check for the purchase price of the totaled car, which allowed us to
SB> buy another 1994 Tempo [we both really like that model]. We've also
SB> already been reimbursed for five days of car rental, and expect no
SB> problems over replacement of damaged property or Bob's lost wages.
TE> I'll bet they are anxious, since their client was clearly
TE> responsible for the accident. They're also probably glad she hit
TE> two staunch conservatives, else both of you would be screaming
TE> "Whiplash, whiplash."
[chuckle] You reminded me of part of the lyrics of "Get Over It" [which
I think should be a strong candidate for echo theme song (grin)].
"You say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash,
Well you might feel better if they give you some cash."
Her insurance company seems to consider us very reasonable specimens.
We're not out to make money on this, just to be compensated for our
economic losses.
