Fly?  My mask isn't capable of flying unless I buy it a ticket.

I've heard this my entire diving career.  I tell my students and tell them 
that now they know....they can do what they want.  Personally, I find a mask 
around my neck very irritating, but I don't tolerate neckties very well 
either.
In 20 years of diving, I've never lost a mask off my forehead.  Your mileage 
may vary.
