Yep, I was thinking about that the other day too, so yes I understand, why I
was getting the error message "There is a IP address conflict with another
system on the network" on the server.

Ok, here we go...

My setup on the server:

-------------------------------
Windows IP Configuration
        Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : gypsy-designs
        Primary Dns Suffix  . . . . . . . :
        Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown
        IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
        WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
        DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : cg.shawcable.net
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
        Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . : cg.shawcable.net
        Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection
        Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-11-11-1E-58-3F
        Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
        Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
        IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.123.124
        Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
        Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.123.254
        DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.123.254
        DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 64.59.135.133
                                            64.59.135.135
-------------------------------

I went into the XPHome server box, went to TCP/IP properties and changed my IP
address to:

192.168.123.125

Bingo! No more error messages on the server about IP address, and everything
was still working on the XPHome box. BUT!

I left the old addresses in prorocol.ini:

--------------------------
[TCPIP]
NBSessions=6
SubNetMask0=255 255 255 0
IPAddress0=192 168 123 124
DisableDHCP=1
DriverName=TCPIP$
BINDINGS=MS$NE2CLONE
LANABASE=1
[MS$NWLINK]
FRAME=ETHERNET_802.2
DriverName=nwlink$
BINDINGS=MS$NE2CLONE
[MS$NE2CLONE]
IOBASE=0x300
INTERRUPT=3
DriverName=MS2000$
--------------------------

BUT, now I type, and yes on the XPHome box I maped z: to the directory:
\\gypsy-designs\bbsfiles

NET USE Z: \\GYPSY-DESIGNS\BBSFILES

Error message! Darn!
Error 51: The specified computer is not receiving requests.

THANKS for all you help so far Frank!
                                                   Kevin
