-> -> -> But the Western Digital Diagnostic program, OR the LINUX program
-> -> -> soemone mentioned can recover the Drive by zeroing out the MBR.

-> -> No if Linux can't see the drive.
-> -> Wrote Roy's command down but if fdisk -l and fdisk /dev/hde fails
-> -> I don't see the dd command working either.

-> Well am not fimilar with the LINUX program but the Western Digital
-> program is like a Vulcan Mind Probe. It can see things that Operating
-> systems can't. It can communicate directly with the Hard Drive
-> electronics. In fact part of the other nice programs on the
-> Diag Disk are a Quick and Deep probe of the hard drive to check for
-> problems.

Well thanks again.
I'm still getting a new drive and controller but I'll try that utility.

Guess my plan is to now setup Linux alone on the drive off the second
controller leaving the CD-ROM the second primary.

This leaves the 1st primary open to install Windows with the
new fixed fdisk and format executables.

Due to power supply limitations in H.P.'s
I'll likely just run one drive at a time but do backups from time to
time.

Already got a PS one into two cable.
