| subject: | Austel Approved USR Courier v.34 (3 |
SH>> I think 2 years for supposedly USR's flagship is still a bit rude when SH>> they give their "cruddier model" 5 years. BG> Yeah, a sentiment echoed by quite a few Courier owners in USR_MODEMS BG> too. Their reasoning seems to defy logic. I don't know what their reasoning is but I imagine the Courier is used in a lot of installations for 24 hours per day, where the Sportster is more an end user modem, only used a few hours a day. Apart from that, we had two Couriers that dropped dead within 2 months, so maybe they have a higher failure rate and they simply cannot guarantee them for more than two years. Besides, who buys a modem and keeps it for 5 years anyway :-) --- GoldED 2.50.Beta4+* Origin: High Voltage BBS, Bendigo, Vic (054)46 7782 (3:637/200) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 624/300 632/0 107 271 304 320 325 326 329 348 SEEN-BY: 632/454 502 503 506 516 525 527 530 552 998 999 1000 633/371 SEEN-BY: 634/384 391 397 635/301 502 503 544 636/100 637/103 106 200 201 205 SEEN-BY: 638/100 639/100 711/409 410 413 430 510 807 808 809 816 933 934 SEEN-BY: 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 637/200 103 632/998 635/503 50/99 711/808 809 934 |
