BA> I have a beta version of Win '95. It did NOT upload anything on BA> connection to MS Net. In fact, if you ring Microsoft and discuss this BA> hidden 'virus' then you will find that MS find it EXTREMELY funny that BA> this type of information is drifting across the net/fidonet. LE> All public release betas encrypt the data due to leaks from LE> Beta-2 testers as to the presence of the feature. The data are most LE> definitely sent. Reverse-engineering the shell software proves that. Fraid not Lew, all WE have is your proclamation on that. Actually SEEing code, and making sure its actually there in OUR copy of the beta would be more than a tad more convincing Lew. And it has to be more than just code sending some stuff too, it has to actually be sending the stuff that MS says it doesnt send, because MS has NEVER denied that they do indeed send SOME version stuff of SOME of what it finds on the drive *IF* you choose to authorise it to do that. Otherwise, it looks a HELL of a lot more like conspiracy theory tripe, PARTICULARLY when it comes from one as rabidly anti MS as you are Lew. LE> Theft of /my/ information is just as important to me as it might be to LE> any software company. They will be selling a Trojan. I hope they are sued, LE> cripplingly. May the users of their products perish in the same fires. Corse you would have to do that funky stuff called PROVING that they are actually doing that Lew. The court wont be satisfied with the likes of you just proclaiming that its 'street knowledge' that they do. --- PQWK202* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/809 934 @PATH: 711/934 |
