that may be true... it is the limits i've been taught for years since i
first got into programming... i see that you and hector are both using
32bit compilers or are at least compiling to a 32bit target... that may
very well be the difference...

the 64k limit is a very real limit and will remain so until such time as
there are no more 16bit real mode programs being created...
