subject: Bogus advert

JR> Further to your inquiry regarding supposed
JR> "bogus advert" in the West Australian newspaper.

JR> I understand that the ad was placed by DynaLink
JR> Australia's West Australian distributor.

I find that a tad hard to credit, because it doesnt explain why
the WA printed a grovelling retraction/apology. If Dynalinks WA
distributor did that, it would be up to Dynalink to fix their
problem with their distributor by an ad of their own or whatever.

JR> You mentioned that the ad was retracted?
JR> Do you have a copy of the retraction?

Nope, I was told about it, didnt see it. Didnt even see the original ad.

JR> Mark (the WA distributor) has no knowledge of any retraction. He
JR> was worried about AUSTEL so placed the advert. I understand that
JR> he was also very upset that he had been distributing pirated software.

All sounds rather fishy John. Austel has nothing to do
with what they might have done about pirate software.

JR> So upset that he even purchased legal copies of BitFax PRO
JR> himself, direct from the USA. So he could provide it to his
JR> customers who returned the pirated BitFax PRO but still wanted
JR> the OCR and SCAN features of the PRO version which were not
JR> available in the legal DynaLink BitWare Lite version.

Still cant see what thats got to do with Austel, or
why the ad was only done in WA either for that matter.

JR> He told me he has legal action pending against
JR> DynaLink Australia regarding his distributorship.

By interesting to know what the story is from
Dynalinks point of view. I bet its a tad different.

JR> Sounded a bit envolved, if you can handle the STD
JR> charges for a call to WA you should talk to him.

It doesnt interest me enough to warrant that cost.
