Sorry about that.  I'm on the road traveling for the next six weeks, and I 
haven't had much time to read echomail so far.  :(

There's not much in the error to determine what's going on.  I forget 
whether the MS client includes an IP "ping" utility, but it would be great 
to see if the IP session is being established or whether it's something 
happening at the MS application layer.

What executables are in the \net folder?  Is there a PING.EXE, ARP.EXE or 
others aside from NET.EXE?
