Yup, NM is not doing well on goals 2000.
Gee, didn't I post W. Edward Deming's prediction of the failure of goals
2000? Someone here might even have it copied and can repost--I lost it in the
computer erasure.
Goals 2000:
1. Does not answer the question HOW
2. Does not provide adequate funding for miracles
3. Did not involve the stakeholders, (students, parents, and teachers)
4. Does not promote quality education
5. Is management by objective, not by system change or improvement
Doomed to failure from the beginning. Another example of politicals trying
change outcomes without changing the system in a logical manner.
What is interesting is that state officials know that they can't pick on
teachers this time around, so the state board is blaming parents. It is a
cheap shot at a group that had no say in the goals. Hmmm, time for me to
write a letter.
