That's not the problem, the problem is file sharing.  Does anyone know 
the filemode needed?  I don't, and I can't afford the $100+ asked to 
find out.
 
so, if someone knows or can write a program or tell me how to figure 
out that filemode in ANY language (especially Power BASIC so Mr. Gordon 
doesn't leap on me) I'd appreciate it.
 
I'd just attack it with brute force but there are far too many 
possibilities to consider.
 
heck, I don't even know if BASIC has routines for that kind of stuff.  
I do C and Pascal most of the time, and only use VBA for some stuff at 
work.
