I don't like editing the registry and _really_ don't like
messing with BIOS settings. 

Some years ago (over a decade) a helpline person for Gateway
gave me access to _engineering_ software to change the BIOS on
a Gateway. Thinking I knew what I was doing I totally disabled
that system and never did get it going again after that. :-\
