You're almost there!  Remember, in a TCP/IP network, every host address 
must be unique.  The address on the server (that you see when you issue 
IPCONFIG) belongs *only* to the server.  You need a different IP address 
on the DOS workstation.

Now, the IP address must be in the range specified by your router (and 
known to the server).  For example, if your server is using the following 
parameters:

IP Address:	192.168.123.45
Subnet Mask:	255.255.255.0
Gateway:	192.168.123.254

Then, you will need to be within that same subnet range.  I'm not going to 
get into a long discussion on that topic, but the simplest thing is just 
to add "1" to the server's IP address, e.g. in this case
"192.168.123.46", 
and you should be good.
