It's 11 Aug 97 17:48:02,
We'll return to John Thompson and Kris Steenhaut's
discussion of Setting up dual boot
KS> Of course. And the Dos systemfiles are wiped outthen . Makes
KS> no sense to me.
Agreed. Obviously, they're backed up somewhere, just like what happens
with a Win95 dual boot (which many people accept).
JT> Why do you think the DOS system files would be "wiped out?"
JT> Running "BOOT /OS2" and "BOOT /DOS" is the exact procedure for
JT> running a "dual-boot" system, as described in the OS/2 manual and
JT> on-line help.
They'd have to exist somewhere after a boot switch, otherwise you'd have
a way to screw up your system _really_ fast! :)
KS> Besides, why the hell do people prefere dual- boot in
KS> favour of the bootmanager? Beats me.
JT> I'm with you there. I've never understood it myself. But
JT> everyone has their own poison, I suppose.
I tend to agree. I decided on Boot Manager from the time I decided on
installing OS/2. I haven't regretted that decision. :-)
