 While us "Old Timers" gripe a lot about it in the Quest for Cheaper and
Cheaper or More Exotic "Things" it as a practical matter has become
economicly a loosing proposition to Repair things. And for electronics
just how many, even amongst the Die Hard Home Electronics Hobbist, realy
had adequate skills in Surface mount technology.
