You can go into the properties->program for MS-DOS prompt icon, and
click on the "close on exit" button. That will cause all default
DOS sessions to close as soon as the program is finished, however.

Can the Start command accept a .PIF file as an argument? Then, you could
create a custom environment by calling the .pif file, not the actual bat
file.
