A hard bottom will move you faster than a soft bottom.  I

Hi Rob, Thanks for the info. Currently looking at Zodiac and Avon
inflatables. Plan to spend a day at the Seattle Boatshow this Saturday
and hope to take it home with me!  Thanks for the input!
