Hmm... Black hole syndrome, most likely.

Some explaining is in order here. :)

There are three machines that cover the BBS, to one extent or the
other, here. They are name as follows:

R2D2 - A P200 MMX with 128 meg memory (recent upgrade). This little
box handles the BBS, internet connection (DSL), internet connection
sharing, internet mailer, dial-up mailer, DNS2GO, and is 192.168.0.1
on the LAN. HD Space = 1-630 meg and 1-500 meg drive. A little work
horse. :)

C3PO - A K6 2/450 with 128 megs memory. My personal system with all my
junk (including my Point) on it. This machine also handles the file
areas for the BBS. HD space = 1 20 gig drive in two partitions.

Spock - A P133 with 80 megs memory. This box runs Win95 and was more
of a play/test machine... still is... that I threw together. HD = 2
200 meg and one 450 meg drives.

This whole mess is networked with BNC cable and R2D2 runs Windows'
"Internet Connection Sharing" (ICS) to provide the other two with
internet access. Since ICS does not do routing, the port mapper was
needed to point port 80 to Spock for the java client.

From the math, R2 is loaded and really can't support much more in the
way of apps running. Trust me, when I get a couple of callers playing
the door games, you can tell the slow down. If one is on the POTS
line, it's really noticeable.

Yes, I know I should get a router and all that. I just can't justify
or afford to purchase one right now. Donations accepted. :)

So, with the history of the system out of the way, what were we
talking about again?? :-))
