Hi All,
Vehicle: 1951 Chrysler Windsor
Engine: Flathead 6
Problem: Engine dies while running.
Ok, thought I would throw this out for a bit of help. Engine runs fine
at idle and power but within a few minutes (3-10 or so) will suddenly
just die. No warning at all.. it just quits - let it sit for about 2 or
three minutes and it starts up just fine and runs like a champ until it
suddenly just dies again.
Items done to try and find problem:
1. Carbuerator rebuilt by former Chrysler mechanic.. and his work
rechecked by another old Chrsler mechanic.
2. Fuel tank drained and flushed.
3. Fuel line drained and flushed
4. Fuel filter (at bowl) replaced
5. Distribotor condenser replaced
6. Coil replaced
7. Timing checked/reset - is ok
8. Valve settings are ok
9. All rubber fittings replaced: ie; fuel line connector to fuel bowl
    connector, vacuum lines.
11. There are no vacuum leaks.
We are stymied... only thing we can think of now is to get a new carb
and try that.
Oh, car has 47,000 original documented miles on it.
Anyone got any ideas as to what is wrong or what we may have missed?
Thank you.
