I wuz pulling your leg, just a tad. Ovations _are_ mentioned in the
conference rules (rule #4, see also rule #2 ), but it's really all in
jest. Me, I like Ovations. A fair number of folks here (professional
guitarists) don't, for very specific reasons; mainly to do with tone. I've
actually had some enjoyable conversations about the pluses & minuses of
Ovations with a couple of the regulars. These days I mostly lurk, not having
had much time these days to practice.
Picking on Ovation owners, here, is kinda like picking on Kurt Cobain; it's
just too darn much fun!

Urk. I was afraid that might be the case. Come to think of it, the piezo
pickups on my Ovation 12 are of varying heights, according to string. I know
you can pull the entire unit out & put shims under it, but I don't recall,
offhand, if you can reverse it or not...

Oh, hecky darn, yes. From my understanding, just about any guitar company
works off of a huge profit margin. Modern electronics are almost as bad...
