Try asking in the ZOOM echo. They'll know.

As I said about my BBS... line 1 noisy, line 2 quiet.
Your BBS might have had something done to their phone lines that is
accidentally causing noise, like calls being routed differently, a badly
sealed outdoor connection that's being rained on, or wires moved too
close to electrical devices.
Usually, *my* line is quiet, but a couple of times I've picked it up and
could hear people chatting faintly, and I *don't* have a party line.
