| subject: | What were they thinking?! |
I'm hoping to write a humorous article to be called "What Were They Thinking ?!" - a series of short anecdotes about stupidly funny things people do in our hobby. Three examples: "CLINT MARQUETTE went on holiday and left his sister to take care of his aquarium. There was a power cut which worried his sister a lot, so she turned the heater thermostat up to full blast. When Clint came back the tank was steaming and all his fish were dead! 'RICKY GRANGE worked in a pet store. One day a lady came to return an angel fish because it had eaten her neon tetras. She demanded $16 for the fish - i.e. the $4 she'd paid for it, plus $12 which was the value of the neons inside it! 'As a newlywed, BILL PONTIN had a 30 gallon tank in his apartment. One evening he noticed a pond full of mosquitoes, so he caught a whole mass of them and returned home. He dumped them all in his tank, and there were so many that the fish couldn't eat them all. Pleased that the food should last for several days, he turned out the lights and went to bed. His wife woke him in the middle of the night complaining about a buzzing sound. When they turned on the lights they found mosquitoes everywhere - the heat of the tank had made them all hatch." Would anyone like to contribute other anecdotes along these lines? If you mention your name or the names of the subjects (either real names, or made up for that matter), as in the above examples, I will include the names as above. I'd prefer them short as above. If you have longer anecdotes perhaps they'd work as a stand-alone articles! The article will be posted on http://www.aquarticles.com Howard Norfolk.
