If I run SIO, after SDDHELP it doesn't just stop, it crashes. I really should clean my office more often. Over in a corner, in amongst the packing material in a box left over from a WD HDD I got some time ago, was a Promise Ultra 100 card. It doesn't recognize Guest either but it gives me a better option to run the second HDD from the card and put the Zip on the MB. But then things got weird. When drives have been changed the MB goes thru a lengthy process of reevaluation. During one of the iterations it swapped the IDE ports on the MB; they are OK now. The Zip is second master, that allows both CD and DVD to traded easily. I had heard of problems where there is a slave and no master; this setup won't get past Verifying DMI pool if Zip doesn't have a slave. The only primary is C: everything else is extended; mix of FAT16, FAT32 and HPFS. DOS Guest, DRFAT32 and iHPFS all work. However, this MB tries to be helpful. The BIOS always lists the Zip. DOS, OS/2 and Win have drivers that assign it a letter after the last HDD. But if there is a disk in the Zip it gets assigned to D: without waiting for an OS so the rest of the drive letters are pushed out one space and nothing boots properly. So, boot without a disk. But that is a good idea anyway; that way sometimes the eject button works under OS/2; unless you actually access the drive. I never found a way to reliably eject. Ray ------------------------ Yahoo!
