Hi John;
My son split the barrel on his H&R Topper Jr 20 ga by firing it
with snow in the barrel. I don't think it was the quality of the
barrel steel. I've got an 870 I bought in 1965. Could'nt tell you
how many rounds have been thu it between me, my brothers, my nephews,
my son, and every one else that has borrowed it, shot trap with it
and hunted with it. All the finish was worn off so I had it sandblasted,
reblued it, and added a Speed Feed stock & forearm. Now it looks like
new and still shoots great. I have the same faith in Remington as you.
I figure it's good for another 30 years now.
Take Care
Dave
