I didn't check contents of JH> the subdirectories, but in the main directory, these two versions are JH> identical in filenames, filesizes, and filedates. Only difference is JH> that the full retail Upgrade version is _missing_ the following JH> files: FORMAT.COM, OEMSETUP.BIN, and OEMSETUP.EXE. Anyone interested, MM> Odd! I _do_ have those files on my full retail Upgrade version. ??? Seems strange, OK. The Upgrade version here is in a blue cardboard sleeve, and the disc itself is a light blue color vs. silver like the std OEM version. On the upgrade version here, the small print says "0398 Part No. X03-30206 Since Win98 will install without those OEMSETUP.* files, I wonder if it may be those files which lead it to run FDISK without permission under certain circumstances? MM> Each time I've re-installed it, I've had to swap in a Win for MM> Workgroups floppy to confirm eligibility for the 'Upgrade' version. Similar here, but I let it sniff my old Win95 CD disc. ...
