OS/2 usually (correctly IMHO) simply spits the dummy. Actually, I have an update. Rebooted windows and looked at the file I copied earlier, it reported 0 bytes. And windows could no longer work the drive either. I was hoping that by moving the Maxtor drive (ATA-133) to eide 1 and by itself might fix it, it did not. The next thought I have is to do as you said, set it as standalone master, and if it doesn't work with the 80 wire cable, then try the 40. If not then I wonder if something would be wrong with my controller. Else it has to be their drive. I should have held out for a Seagate :-( My 40 gig WD seems to work fine though with CS and cabled to my DVD/RW. Franklin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
